Smokey Eye How-To

Erin-2

The Smokey eye is a fierce, modern look and not limited to red carpet or upscale event. Whether you have light or dark eyes, going out to a chic soiree or simply out with girlfriends; the Smokey eye is the perfect complement eye makeup. Even though it can appear easy once complete, there are crucial steps that needs to me master in order to achieve the perfect Smokey Eyed Look.

Step 1: Apply a cream concealer all over your eyelid to create a smooth base for your eye shadow. Step 2: Use a pencil a dark pencil liner (black, dark brown or grey work best) to trace your lash line from the inner corner to the outer corner. Then, use the same pencil on your lower lashes and smudge both lash lines with an eyeliner brush. Step 3: Sweep a eye shadow (grey, brown or soft black) over your lid and into your crease, blending the color up and outward. Note: For a glow and more dramatic look, pat a cream eye shimmer shadow over the concealer on your eyelid first and then top it with a matching powder eye shadow.

Step 4: Apply a liner of your choice liquid, gel or pencil along the upper lash line. The liner should be thick enough to be visible when the eyes are open. Make sure to keep the liner of the bottom lash soft.

Step 5: Dust a lighter or neutral eye shadow just over your brow bone.

Step 6: Finish with 2 or 3 coats of black mascara. But if you are going to apply mascara, be sure to curl them first before applying the mascara. Curling your eyelashes after applying mascara leads to more breakage. You may also choose to wear false lashes for a more dramatic look.
